Ro James is a breath of fresh air when it comes to the world of R&B. Ro released his first album Eldorado this year and has been touring with Maxwell. Ro has the sound and vibes of Prince, Maxwell, and Miguel. Eldorado was a surprising addition to my collection because I had only briefly heard Permission and didn’t know much about Ro James prior to that. Once I previewed the album, I quickly bought the album and haven’t regretted that decision.

The album goes through the ups and downs of relationships and how sometimes the timing is not right (Bad Timing), how you can’t be what the other person needs you to be (I’m sorry), or constantly thinking about the connection you have with a person (A.D.I.D.A.S [All Day I]). Some standout tracks are Permission, Already Knew That, Holy Water, and Last Cigarette.
