Atlanta is a new FX series from Donald Glover a.k.a Childish Gambino. It stars Donald Glover as Earnest “Earn” Marks, Brian Henry as Alfred “Paper Boi” Miles, Keith Stanfield as Darius, and Zazie Beetz as Vanessa. The core of the show is about two Atlanta bred cousins, Earn and Paper Boi, trying to make a better life for themselves by capitalizing off of the rap talents Paper Boi possesses.

Atlanta is a visually stunning show and gives a unique vantage point of the hustle. The cinematography is beautifully done and unlike anything you’ve seen before. The show also displays music in a unique way, by teasing with little tasty music soundbites popping up in throughout episodes. There is a mixture of old and new music with songs like Law by Yo Gotti and Grandma’s Hands by Bill Withers.

The series has already been picked up for a second season, but there is still more to come this season; so, I can’t wait to see what happens on Earns, Paper Boi, and Darius’ journey for success. Check out Atlanta, Tuesdays at 10pm ET/9pm CT on FX. It’s worth the watch. Of course, if you don’t check it out, you’re playing yourself.
